There are many reasons why filming your own wedding is a great idea, here’s just a few:
Your friends film it! Once you’ve booked with us, you can assign different filming duties to up to 10 wedding guests. These people will be sent guidance a week before your wedding day, telling them exactly what to film at the wedding, and how to do a great job.
We recommend splitting roles between 8-10 people, as this ensures no one has too much to do!
The beauty of a film it yourself wedding video is that you’re in control! It’s completely up to you what you want your guests to capture.
We recommend a bit of everything – getting ready in the morning, the ceremony, the speeches, cutting the cake, the first dance and the party… we can send guidance to your guests on all these core parts of the day, but ultimately you can asks your guests to capture anything you want from the day.
We usually edit our videos in landscape, so we recommend your guests film in landscape too. That said, portrait/vertical videos can be used too, but they’ll likely be space to either side of the video.
You can collect an unlimited amount of videos from an unlimited amount of guests. The length of your highlights film will be determined by the package you choose when booking.
If you add 10 Filmers, and assign roles to each, you’ll most likely get between 200 and 300 videos uploaded.
We currently have 6 roles available: Getting Ready, Ceremony, Speeches, Cake Cutting, First Dance, and Party.
You can assign a guest to any number of these roles, and we’ll send them relevant guidance. This is a short video telling them what they need to film, how to do a great job, and any other things to bear in mind.
The day after your wedding, we’ll send a link to all your assigned Filmers where they can upload their phone videos. We’ll send the link to you too, in case you want to share it with anyone else.
Absolutely! When you create your account, we’ll generate a QR code for you which links to the page for guests to upload videos. You are welcoem to use this on wedding stationery. However, it’s really important you assign specific filming duties as well – as this ensure your guests will capture the videos you want.
Once uploaded, the videos come straight to us, ready for editing into your DIY wedding video.
If you want, you can view and download these from within your account, however we recommend waiting until we’ve edited your highlights video to look at them, as it will make that first viewing all the more special.
We usually aim to edit videos and get them to you within 28 days of your wedding. Sometimes it can take a little longer during busy periods.
When you book with us, you have a choice of packages and these determine the length of the wedding video we edit for you. You can view the options here.
Yes! The whole point of a DIY wedding video is that it’s unique to you. We let you choose what music we use in the editing, from a range of popular tracks we have licensed.
Our library is constantly growing and if you have something in particular in mind, we can try and get it for you. You can view a selection of our songs here.
We generally only use video clips in your wedding video. However guests are welcome to upload photos via the link too – as it’s a great way for you to collect everything in.
We’re based in the UK, however you can use our service anywhere in the world as everything is digital.

While it initially posed a challenge to gather and compile all the clips, we persevered… and ultimately edited them together, making our own highlights film. We found the video not only conveyed the essence of our wedding day, but also offered a unique and intimate perspective – how it was seen through the eyes of our nearest and dearest!
